resurfacing for air

25 November 2016

I'm going to kick off this post-hiatus post by saying:
1. HELLO I'M FREE AND I'M ON MY LAST SUMMER BREAK EVER???
2. HALF OF MY THIRD AND FINAL YEAR OF UNI IS DONE
3. I'VE BEEN READING AND WATCHING SHOWS
4. SPENDING TIME WITH FRIENDS
5. TURNED 22 LAST FRIDAY
6. HELLO SPRING

I can't believe I've got a semester to go and then I'm done with uni FOREVER! I actually finished all my essays 2 weeks ago but it was hard trying to muster a lil momentum for blogging.
This is the 1st out of 4 drafts I have so don't worry girl I got you.

The photos below are just a collection of minutes and days entangled in the days before, during and after the hectic period that is semester end. Enjoy!

vic market

Since I live literally 5 minutes away from QVM, came here to spend time with Kelly, buy groceries & of course - had my favourite cheese & spinach borek!

intense carb loading hahahah

Not all heroes come in capes lol

adik's 1st 9in6 + gym

Adik did her 1st 9in6 round and lost 10kg on the dot in 6 weeks. I am so proud of her and she demonstrated a fierce display of self-control and discipline. Going to the gym 5 days a week together really brought us closer together, extending our foray of bonding activities. I am thankful to have such a supportive backbone who is an inspiration to me every day.

Losing 10kg is no easy feat - I thought I had it hard but adik hit the ball out of the park. Succeeding in her goals even with culinary school, to be in the face of brutal temptation - I applaud you every step of the way.

She's doing her round 2 right now and on the mission for the next 10 kilos!

Glowing with endorphins!!! My lil adik.

We are drenchedddd after 530 am training.

On her weight out day!!! Look at our wide smiles!!!!

Front squats

Did Kayla's BBG 2.0 with Kim. We did 3-4 rounds of each circuit!!! Last year when we did it we could only do 1.5-2.5 rounds.

hometivities

Final 3 weeks of the semester, I was either camped out at the gym or at home writing essays. So didn't do much in between except for procrastinating and taking 6 naps a day. Ate at home a lot and baked a couple of times.

Pommys!

After adik weighed out of her first round, she made chicken liver pate with toasted brioche bread.

A mix of cuisines hahaha. Kelly made bihun with sambal, adik made chocolate tart and chicken liver pate.

SOOOOO CREAMY.

Faiz made crepes with honey and strawberry filling.

I made grilled chicken on toasted sweet potato wrap.

Salad for meeee

After mixing it together

Toasted eggplant, half a salmon, beetroot and avocado wrap.

Banana bread with no sugar and butter - only coconut oil. Really bland but the banana flavour punches through. I had this mostly with PB2.

Made Kelly's matcha cake! SOOOO GOOOD OMG

Sunset

Meal prepped for adik, Faiz and I

Protein pancakes with PB2, crofter's strawberry jam and blueberries.

Ika-chan visited and did my hair! Crazy - I can't even do a french braid....

Sunset from our apartment

Shereen had a lil trial run-through of her culinary exam at home and we were treated to a 3 course meal! Mushroom risotto.

Goat and spinach ravioli.

Dessert with freshly whipped cream.

Cat documentaries 4 life.

Still on that Korean skincare train.

Faiz made coffee scrub with ground coffee, coconut oil and brown sugar. Frank who? Lol

first day of freedom

A day for celebrating! Finished my final essay the night before. Had costco pizza for lunch with the Fulton people, did my nails after and then had dinner with Bella @ Mr Miyagi.

Russ & Pat

Size for measure... P/S: those 2 slices are for me #rekt

Fresh nails!!!! Pink glitter marble and a lil mermaid accents.

My nails have grown considerably since this photo was taken. I've been growing them out a fair bit and quite like it! Got over my phobia of long nails.

Simply simply lah

At the waiting room in Mr Miyagi

This place is craaaazy, they had a waiting room where they served drinks and finger food. Bella and I waited for 1.5 hours and then finally got moved to our table. The wait was SOOOOO WORTH IT. 10/10 would come again. Japanese fusion goodness.

With my childhood best friend

Stables of Como cafe

Having a belated lunch here with 30 of my friends this coming sunday so I had brunch while I met up with the event planner. This place is hugeeeee, this is just the cafe side of it. Endless gardens surround the cafe outside.

Rustic interiors

Truffled eggs and I had the grain salad with iced long black.

Shimbashi with Kelly

Nice spring day so I quickly met Kelly who was on her lunch break.

Lemme tell u about this fat pigeon - he is literally fearless. He sits right next to the peanut stalls and the vendor said the pigeon comes and wait for its little treat every single day. You can literally pet it!?!?!?

Cloudless, blue sky

My go-to. Tempura egg soba.

Kelly lovessss the lady finger soba.
