last bits of melbourne 2015

08 January 2016
I hope everyone's been having a good first week of 2016. With a new year comes new unwritten chapters! HOORAH! A sleek, clean slate for you, you, you and you.

I'm also back from my Euro + Saudi trip. Not only did I manage to bring back many fond memories home with me, I've also brought back the dreaded and horrible.... Jetlag. My sleeping pattern's messed up, I went to sleep at 4 am yesterday and woke up at 2 pm this afternoon. This is especially difficult, since I'm very much a morning person..

I spent the wee hours of the morning editing a small portion of photos from my cameras to kill time and I found photos from my last week in Melbourne for 2015. A majority of it was spent with Faiz's parents who came down for his sister's, Ika (or dotingly remembered as Ika-chan by me), graduation. I am lucky more than I can say, how Faiz's family share the same love for walking and exploring spots as I. For one of the days, we actually walked over 22000+ steps! Many morning were also devoted to Ika's visits to my apartment, with countless cherished moments in tow.

Here are my last week in photos. I really do hope you love it as much as I do :)

Again blessed with one of the better spectrum of Melbourne weather.

Entrance. There's a $10 fee per adult and you can eat as much as you want from the cherries you've picked (straight from the tree, might I add!) but you pay an additional fee for every kg of cherries you decide to bring home.

The cherries were ripe, succulent and soooooooo sweet nomnom

This was the first lavender farm Faiz & I went in 2014! We came here again with his parents to sip lavender tea and lavender shortbread cookies.

I can't find any words to describe how proud I am!!!!! Bachelor of Pharmaceuticals with honours!!! To another chapter in your life Ika-chan :)

Visiting Melbourne Uni campus with Faiz's family

Outside Trinity College! Ika, Faiz & I studied here for our foundation. Just different years.

Hahahahahaha Faiz said that this wasn't intentional :P He was just stretching his neck!

iPhone selfie from Merricks beach

We were truly lucky. Faiz and I have tried getting a reservation for weeks to no avail. We were informed that we would be put on a waiting list. On the eve of our anni, we got a call informing they've got a spot opened up for the 11th night (our anniversary!). We were also scheduled to be back in the city by then..
 So we grabbed the booking.

The bar where the chef cuts and serves his sushi.

They serve Japanese fine dining, or omakase by Chef Koichi, omitting any ala-carte menu. It was a lovely experience, further exacerbating our love for Japanese food.

Lighting was horrendous but I managed to salvage this quick photo

Doughnut pop-up

Veruca Salt is salted caramel dougnut!!!! Hahahaha I love creative names.

I'll be posting again in the next few days!! My days in KL have been spent with my high school sweetheart, Melinda. When I landed yesterday morning, she came to my house right after to chill and lepak. Hehehehe. She is one of the main reasons why I love coming home :)

I hope everyone is having an awesome day, smiling and happy.

Lots of love,
